What is Narcan?

Narcan is also known as naloxone, a drug that has become to be known as the “overdose” drug
Narcan helps reverse the effects of opioid drug overdoses
Previously limited to medical professionals only, Narcan can now be used by anyone in an emergency

The need for Narcan

Narcan’s popularity and transition to over the counter availability is related to drug overdoses
Narcan can reverse the effects of opioid drug side effects preventing loss of life

At any time an emergency can happen, anywhere. 

 

This class is approximately one hour long. 

What this presentation is about

This presentation is for information purposes only. The material discussed is not medical advise. During this presentation, the adult victim is used for examples. Children and infants are not discussed in this presentation.

Intended audience

This presentation is intended for people interested in learning what Narcan is and how it is administered.
