How to Schedule a Skills Check Appointment
The American Heart Association Blended class option is an easy two-part process.
Part 1
Part 1 consists of completing an online learning experience by watching videos online in the comfort of your own home or office via a device connected to the Internet. After completion, you will be able to print a "Certificate of Completion" which you will bring with you to Part 2.
Part 1 is purchased through the American Heart Association at American Heart Association eLearning (link). Select the Courses you want to take and follow the directions on their site. Absolute CPR provides some product numbers for help/reference, but you must be sure you are selecting the right products for the classes you want to take. When you are finished with Part 1, print the Certificate of Completion and bring it with to your Skills Check appointment (Part 2)
The time to complete these online portions varies depending on which class you are taking. While self-paced, they can take a bit of time to complete. (Estimated times available here)
Blended / eLearning Course Materials:
A list of product numbers for eLearning can be found on our website at Course Materials - while these numbers are as accurate when this description was being authored, please verify you are purchasing the correct products for the class(es) you want to take. This purchase is done through the American Heart Association and Absolute CPR is not responsible for accidental purchases or wrong product selection on the AHA websites. All questions about Blended / eLearning can be directed to Absolute CPR or the American Heart Association.
Please visit the American Heart Association eLearning webpage for more information.
PART 1 OF THIS PROCESS MUST BE COMPLETE BEFORE ATTENDING THE NEXT STEP
Part 2
Part 2 includes the Skills Check. This starts by making an appointment (below) with an instructor at our office, where the instructor will assess the skills you learned in Part 1. The remaining videos will be watched then the Skills we will be performed. Students will have an opportunity to warm up and practice their skills with the manikin before the Instructors evaluate their skills.
After completing the Skills Check, your Course Completion Card will be issued.
